something happened and i really need a 2nd opinion cause i don’t know what to do/ think..

so i was in the car with my boyfriend. he was scrolling through snapchat and i had my head on his shoulder (his mom was driving we were in the back lol) and he accidentally tapped on someone’s name... “Autumn Gray” and that name sounded so familiar to me.. i realized that’s his ex.

and when i first saw her name i was like oh well, not a big deal at all because maybe they broke it off on good terms, i have an ex that i still talk to here and there (ofc as friends). so i didn’t care.

but he accidentally tapped on her name and the chats popped up. there was a bunch of hearts, laughing emojis, etc. i went to my mom and she said “even if he’s cheating, so what? you’re the first in his heart. u go out to eat with him and his parents, he comes over all the time, and plus hearts don’t mean anything”

idk, i guess i have a different mindset than my mom cause i won’t be cheated on lol.

so anyway in the car he slid off real quick and i looked at him and i said “what was that?” and he said “those texts are old from when we were dating.” and i said “let me see” because i could slide up so i could read the date of when the texts were sent. and if they were old there would be no problem at all but i just don’t know what to think.

i’m not trying to be a psycho jealous girlfriend but i did look the girl up on instagram and he still likes her pictures. it’s just all adding up and i don’t feel good about.

on the other hand i trust him, i really do. we’ve been together for almost 8 months. i know i’m only a freshman and there’ll be more out there for me, but i can’t picture losing him, it hurts too bad. but if he’s cheating on me i can’t be with him.

any advice on how to find out if he’s cheating, what to say to him, or if it sounds like he’s cheating? thank you girls ❤️

edit: hearts matter to me cause that’s often how we text, tons of hearts
