How common are missed miscarriages?

Hi ladies. I’m almost 12 weeks pregnant with my first baby. I got my 10 week scan two weeks ago and my baby looked good with a heartbeat of 159 bpm. However, since my last scan i don’t really feel pregnant anymore. My boobs don’t hurt and my nausea has subsided. I know i should be thankful but I’m worried. Are missed miscarriages common or would i probably know if i miscarried? I haven’t had any severe cramping and I’ve had no bleeding. TIA.

I had one, but as your hormones start regulating your symptoms become less and less going into your 2nd trimester. This happened to me at around 12 weeks with all my healthy pregnancies. I’m sure everything is fine, hon. Try not to stress!

The risk of miscarriage drops dramatically after seeing the heart beat. And it drops even more once you hit the 2nd trimester. Try not to worry to much.

You wouldn’t necessarily know. My mom didn’t know until she went in for her ultrasound and there was no heartbeat. (Not to worry you but I just felt like saying that since someone else said you’d know) 
But it’s normal for symptoms to start to fade as you enter the 2nd trimester. I was extremely worried after two miscarriages so I got a fetal doppler to help calm my nerves.

Your hormones are settling down now at 12 weeks that’s probably why you are feeling better. Missed miscarriages are more common before you see a heartbeat I think. That’s when I had mine. You wouldn’t know you were miscarrying, that’s the point of it being “missed”, but what you are feeling right now is completely normal for where you’re at in pregnancy.

I’ve been pregnant 4 times and twice my symptoms calmed down around 10 weeks when the baby was still doing fine. 
I had one missed miscarriage with no noticeable reduction in symptoms associated with it.
Have you considered, for reassurance, using a home fetal doppler? Being able to check a heartbeat for reassurance has been huge for me!

It’s always a possibility. If you’re worried you could always ask your doctor if you could come in and get a quick Doppler/heart beat check 🤷🏼‍♀️
I’m pretty sure I had a missed miscarriage. Baby had a heart rate at 7.5 weeks and I miscarried at 11.5. I’m pretty sure (and my doctor agrees) baby probably stopped growing/died a couple weeks before I actually started to cramp and bleed. But because my water had already broken and I was bleeding so much by the time I got to the doctors office there was no way to know for sure.
It’s hard not to worry and I worried my entire second pregnancy. But just know, there’s always a greater possibility that baby is just fine than something being wrong.

It's more common then you would think. My friend sadly miscarried 4 weeks before she knew she lost the baby. Didn't
 find out until her 20 week scan. Her body didn't do what it was supposed to. 
However! Symptoms come and go and its absolutely normal to feel them one week and not the other.

At 12 weeks you would know if you were miscarrying. Theres always a possibility if it happening, you're never really safe, but you would definitely know if you were miscarrying or miscarried
