Cervical Checks? Dilation?

At what week do we normally start having checks for dilation?

My midwife and obgyn doesn’t even bother to check before the overdue control, it doesn’t really tell you anything unless you are in labor. You can go several weeks slightly dilated, but you could also go from 0-10cm within hours.

Nobody went near me up there until I was at my due date as I agreed to a sweep! Next time I was 8 days over and my back Waters went so they needed to check me! 
Same as the other person said too much poking for no reason isn’t good!

You don’t have to have them done. They aren’t an indicator of when labor will happen and could introduce bacteria. I was checked in labor and thats what I’ll do this time.

If you see a midwife they don’t normally check unless you specifically ask them to, just wait for baby to come. OBGYN normally waits until the last 2 weeks, unless you show signs of going into labor early
