What’s your take on having a “Lotus Birth”?

I'm all for delayed cord clamping, but the placenta starts to decay and die once you pass it. No thanks.

Anyone who says it's beneficial is lying. It does nothing to help baby or Mom. Once the blood is out of the placenta in the few minutes after birth, all that is left it the toxins that the placenta filtered out of the baby supply. Its literally keeping a baby attached to a dead, toxin filled organ. It can cause the baby to get a fatal infection passed over from the placenta.

Definitely not a fan. I’m all for natural birth. I had a drug free homebirth, I didn’t cut the cord until the placenta was birthed (about an hour after baby came out). I’m all for placenta consumption although I wouldn’t do it myself. I had my sons placenta planted on our family’s property under a tree I think it’s very special.. BUT leaving a rotting placenta attached to the baby is something I just can’t get onboard with. I don’t see any benefit. Imagine trying to get baby dressed, would it be dangerous for the baby is the hardened cord was knocked? Plus I don’t imagine the smell would be great.
