Similarly, genuinely, I would like to suggest that everyone here who wears makeup analyzes the source of their makeup. For example, if your makeup contains mica, there’s a possibility that it was farmed in a mica-containing location where people died trying to obtain the mica for a mere profit. It’s a really disturbing industry as well. I try to look at all areas of my life that I can make an improvement on but makeup is something people frequently forget about analyzing as well.

I am 31 and haven’t shopped in those store in years. Yes I did when I was younger and didn’t have much money, however, much of the stuff you buy there is made so cheaply that a few washes deteriorates the fabric. I buy resale or save up some money for new good quality items.

Not often. Ethics aside, it’s shitty quality clothing. It costs more money in the long run to shop there since it has to be replaced so often.

I’m assuming this is a controversial topic because of how bad these shops are to the environment. I read a huge post about it last week sometime and I really wish I saved it now so I could share it on here. I shop at Primark which is a cheap fast fashion store. I don’t make a lot of money so I don’t really get the option to shop at more expensive places, and the quality is quite good for how low the prices are. I do want buying more second hand clothes and accessories though, because it’s cheap and much better for the environment.

I don’t for environmental reasons. I also prefer to have a few quality items in my closet. Quality over quantity for me.

Fuck no, and here are my main reasons for doing so: I would never want to shop at a store where the clothes or items obtained are obtained through a way that I would not want to be treated as a worker. Additionally, I have a surplus of thrift stores around me that offer very luxurious brands or fast fashion brands and items at even lower prices than fast fashion stores, so I literally have no excuse to shop at a fast fashion store vs a thrift store. The environment— I don’t like what fashion in general does to it. Whether it’s used clothing or new clothing, most of it goes to waste, but to lessen that waste I only shop used or from ethical new stores, and I only buy items that I truly need/will wear often enough to make their lifespan worth it. But especially fast fashion just straight up destroys it. Also, the quality of it is almost always shit and the resale value of it is even worse— why would I spend $6 on a forever 21 top I’ll have to give away when I could get an Akris Punto top for $4 that I can easily resell for $150? I understand that that’s not everyone’s circumstance, but it is mine, so that’s what I abide by personally.

Heck no. I'm dedicated not to support that stuff. Fair trade, made in USA & thrift all the way for years. Also, now a minimalist, so fast cheap fashion has lost the appeal it did used to have! But I used to overbuy at thrift shops.
