How to prevent / fix flat head?

What are you mamas doing?

My daughter is basically always held 🤦🏼‍♀️ She is only happy laying down for like... 3 minutes lol. She’s been a side sleeper since birth so I don’t have to worry about that. She doesn’t even have the slightest hint of a flat head. 
I believe the only fix would be a corrective helmet.

I'm not really doing anything. Apparently it fixes itself (and those helmets aren't strictly necessary).

My baby was getting a flat head because he favored one side. We got him a flat head pillow on Amazon for $14.99 and have been using it for a couple weeks and its worked awesome!!

We ONLY use it while hes laying on the floor or for supervised naps. But its definitely helping! And he turns his head both ways now! 
Also tons of tummy time, baby wearing and not letting him lay for long periods of time.

If it’s on the side try to turn their head to the other. My daughter always prefers one side over the other but we are always holding her. She rolls around in her sleep too so she’s not always on one side, and if she is on one side for a while my husband turns her head to the other side lol. We also do tummy time with her a couple times a day, and when she’s on her play mat we both sit on the left/right sides of her so she can look at both of us and turn her head. I had a friend whos sons head was very flat on one side, the doctor gave her 2 weeks to work with her son and make sure he wasn’t laying on that specific side too much, and told her if it didn’t improve he would need a helmet.

If it’s on one side, try to get them to look to the other side as much as possible. Lay them down to sleep with their head turned the opposite way. Obviously do lots of tummy time/sit/hold more upright when awake. My daughter was starting to get a flat spot on the right side of her head her first month, after the pediatrician brought it up we were good about working to her looking left more and keeping her head positioned the opposite way, and now it’s hardly noticeable. Worst case, they get a helmet, not ideal but not the end of the world.

Prevent: tummy time, constantly moving (i.e. not staying I one place for too long. Play mat, chair, hold, etc.) Pretty sure the fix is a helmet, but I’m not 100% on that.
