Is not wearing makeup in the workplace deemed unprofessional ?

For the people that work in offices/corporate type jobs ...is it unprofessional to not wear makeup to work sometimes? Still dressing appropriately just not wearing makeup...Curious as to the thoughts on this..

Is this a serious question? If I’m “unprofessional” for not wanting a layer of paste on my face then I’ll walk my happy bare face ass right out that work place(: I’m not putting on makeup for anyone. Makeup doesn’t determine weather someone is professional or not. Silly question.

I’m a stay at home mom, but I have never worn makeup on a daily basis, and it’s been at least 5 years since I’ve put any makeup on my face at all. I do plan to rejoin the workforce eventually, and would be extremely offended if I were to be told that it was expected of me.

Depends on the job. If your not working for a makeup company then no it's not unprofessional. If working for a makeup company yeah it can because they want vlyou to wear the makeup they sell to help make sales

If anything: the women who do wear make up to work generally try to make it look super natural/like they’re not wearing any. 
So why should you have to wear make up to look more natural??

I've never worked where make up is required. I worked at a bank for 5 years and some days I'd wear make up and other days I wouldn't. I think it's ridiculous to think that a woman can't look put together without make up. As long as she's dressed appropriately and her hair is brushed and her face is clean she can look professional without painting her face. I love make up but I don't think I need it to look beautiful and presentable.

I only wear mascara to work because I have blonde eyelashes and I hate how my eyes look without mascara.

If I didn’t have skin problems I wouldn’t wear makeup. I used to have better skin a few years ago and would maybe only wear a loose powder just to even it out more, and maybe mascara depending how I felt (usually if I looked tired). I don’t think it’s unprofessional at all.

I personally think it's unprofessional to be completely bare faced but it's also unprofessional to have your face beat like you're going to the club. My work look is typically a bit of powder, mascara and lipstick complimenting my skin tone. If I'm feeling fancy or have a bit more time, I doll up my eyebrows.
