With my daughter we shared her name right away. Her name is Grace We didnt really get any bad repsonses, just a look from my husbands sister and his grandparents told us not to nickname her Gracie cause apparently thats a dog name. I actually learned after my daughter was born that my grandma thought we should have named her Emma (emma is her middle name).

This time we are having another girl and the name we picked is not totally out there but i want to keep it a secret. When i was tossing around name ideas with my sister i mentioned the name and she was like woah thats way out there for you two. I never mentioned the name again to her. She has no idea we are actually using the name lol. Im worried we will get similar reactions from family memebers. My mom knows the name and has already said she doenst like the middle name. People keep asking us what the name is and im already annoyed. Like i thought it would be fun to announce it at birth but now im second guessing my decision.
