Austen for a girl!?

We love surnames as first names for girls. The others in our list are Emerson (but I think it’s too popular) and Blair (can’t think of a middle name I love to go with this... ugh!). Hubby also loves Remington but I’m not so sure
What are your honest opinions on Austen?

I wouldn’t think “oh they chose a last name as a first name,” I would think “oh they named her after a city but spelled it wrong.”

Blair is nice. I just don't like the trend of "spell a boy's name differently and use it for a girl" thing. I see it a lot nowadays and personally find it an overdone trend. My name is Staci and it's annoying having to always correct people. I can't imagine having to correct spelling and surprise people by my gender when they meet me after seeing my name eg at a job interview. It would bug me.

I love Austen it’s not misspelled, it’s literally a last name (like you want) ie Jane Austen lol. I have to say though I like all the names you guys are considering. Very solid list.
