Okay so my husband picked out Eliana and I really liked it and also liked the meaning. I’m still stuck on Riley but clearly this does not go with his naming style, which I’m trying to respect. He’s full Mexican, I’m half Mexican half white. So anyways today my lovely (white) mother totally shut down Eliana bc she can’t even seem to pronounce it any other way besides “Iliana” and says it reminds her of that show on OWN network called Iyanla : Fix my life. 😫 I’m telling you I would NEVER make these associations in my life. Leave it to my mother. She also shot down Emma. A basic, cute, name I thought. No. She says the kids will call her enema. Thank you if you read all this. I needed to vent also. I know at the end of the day it’s my baby and I can pick whatever but for some reason would just really like her approval. 😒
