Hi! So I know this is ultimately my decision but I need some honest opinions. I just graduated in May with a bachelors in psychology. I was originally going for occupational therapy but i couldn’t get into the program (i tried twice it was super competitive. ) I still get sad when I think I won’t have a career in the medical field whenever I see someone in scrubs I get sad. I just moved to Kansas my boyfriends is in the military and we have been doing long distance for 2 years and decided when I was done with college I’d move here with him. Wichita state university offers an accelerate nursing program it takes 13 months to complete I was looking into. I met with an academic advisor and she showed me all the prerequisite i would need which looks like it will be the sciences (chemistry, microbiology, pharmacology, anatomy and physiology, and pathophysiology) they are evaluating my other credits to see if they will accept my other prerequisite i have from my previous school. I am already in a lot of debt from school so idk if i should do it or not and or myself in more debt. I have a 3.34 cumulative gpa right now the lady told me a 3.4 is competitive when applying to this program so she said she thinks i will be pretty set. I just don’t know if i should put myself more debt just to find that Im not accepted into the program they only accept 30 people. I am usually a pretty positive person but after working my ass off to get into the ot program twice (retaking classes i got Bs in) and getting rejected twice it has really made me doubt myself. Should i go for it or no?
