Honestly we’re you spoiled as a child ?

We were very poor, but anything I wanted I got. It probably helps that I rarely wanted anything. One of my father's favorite stories is how I asked for fruity pebbles for christmas once. I knew my parents' financial state and I never minded. Even when I did want something, I never expected to actually get it. You can be spoiled and not be a brat or selfish.

Definitely not, I grew up hungry because we didn’t always have food lol. I honestly think it’s made me more grateful, a harder worker, and a more empathetic human being 🙂. Not suggesting anyone starve their children though lol.

I was very spoiled. I was the first granddaughter and I lived across the street from my grandparents so I was always spoiled by my grandparents. If I wanted it I got it.

If I asked my parents for something now, they would get it for me. I don’t though, I make my own $$. 
My my parents would pay for all of us to go on vacation (maybe I would pay for a flight), whereas my in-laws wouldn’t pay a dime for us and they expect us to pay our share ASAP (FIL made a Venmo for this). My in-laws didn’t offer to help with the wedding either.

My parents divorced when I was in 5th grade (I’m almost 24 now), when they were married I wasn’t spoiled. We were a family of 4 and my Mom was very traditional and strict, still is. After they separated there was no custody, I chose to be with my Dad. From then on out, yes I was spoiled. But I came from both parents, I knew hard work was necessary and you earned what you worked for. The older I’ve gotten the more I’ve realized life isn’t materialistic items. I wasn’t ever a brat or snobby, either. I’m a stay at home (almost) Mom now. I cherish my man for every hard day he puts in for our family. ❤️

Definitely not. Out of 8 kids I was the youngest girl. And I had 2 younger brothers after me. Plus we had foster kids. My parents always favored my younger brothers over everyone so they spoiled them.

yes.. but by my grandmother. i’m the oldest grandchild and i was the only one for about 10 years. i got everything i wanted. i’ve lived with her since about 8th grade, but totally my choice. my parents are in my life, but they definitely don’t spoil me. i’m pregnant now and i know she’s going to spoil the crap out of my baby.

I was raised by a single mother with two children. She worked very hard to provide for us. We weren’t rich but I had everything I needed and she definitely made me work for everything I wanted. Wouldn’t change it for the world
