Anyone else feel panicked when baby cries?

My daughter recently was moved to her crib. When she wakes up in the middle of the night crying, I hear it on the monitor and it's like a splash of cold water on me while I'm sleeping. Does anyone experience this?

Omg girl yes! When I am woken up to my daughter screaming I feel like pins and needles are being dumped on me. I jump up in a moment of sheer panic *GASP!*😲, look over...and my fiancé is sleeping like a baby 😠🙄. Lol it’s a mommy thing.

100%. My husband didn’t seem to understand that hearing my son cry sent off alarm bells through my entire body. Even if my husband was trying to calm him, if he continued to cry, I’d have to take him. Otherwise I was pacing like a lunatic or I was lying in bed with my heart pounding.

Yes!! But it happens regardless of what time of day. Hearing her cry kind of gives me anxiety and makes me feel like I have to “fix it” immediately.

Yes. It is so stressful. I LEAP out of bed. I imagine that’s why it can be so heartbreaking for moms who do cry it out. Our animal brains need to respond

She sleeps right beside me in her bed and I still jump up anxiously when I could literally just roll over. Something about your babies cry while you’re sleeping seems to be just like a loud alarm going off.

Yup, it’s a normal response to your crying baby. It’s gotten easier for me, my boy is 2.5 now and when he gets up in the night I can usually let him cry for a minute or two before I feel the urgency to get up. When we first moved him into his own room at 6 months I was constantly waking at every noise he made through the monitor

I think that’s normal especially having just moved her into a different room. My husband and I were the same way when we moved our boy for probably a couple weeks before it finally was just normal and not startling.
