Mirena pre and post baby

I had the Mirena in college and hated it because I had constant cramps so I gave up on it within the month or two month mark.

Fast forward to now - I’ve had a baby and I am not looking to get pregnant again anytime soon (I’m waiting at least 3 years) so I’m looking into possibly trying an IUD again.

Has anyone had experience with having an IUD prior to having kids and then getting one after giving birth? Was the insertion pain the same? Did your body “accept”it better since you went through the birthing process?
