Do you think this is weird?

My boyfriend has a friend that lives in another state and they’ll check in with each other every few months or so. But this friend always asks if we’re still together & If I still live at his place... like wth. I guess I would understand the concern because we did move pretty fast our first year of dating, but we’re going 3 years together and we also have a baby now. Since we’ve been together, the same question is asked every time they talk. When my boyfriend says we’re doing great and he’s thankful for his family the “friend” says something like “I only want the best for you 😘” or something like that. Do you think she’s just being..... friendly? Or does this person secretly want to replace me? Lol

My husband has and has had plenty of female friends...but none that ever talk like that. That’s weird and I’m not a jealous significant other.

If you two had only been together 4-6 months, I could see that but after 3 years and a baby, that's really weird. And the kissy face emoji is really unnecessary.

Idk, I'd ask a female friend that kind of question if we checked in only occasionally like you describe 🤷🏼 I think a good rule of thumb with opposite sex friendships is to ask yourself if you'd be bothered if a male friend said/did whatever to your SO. This seems unremarkable to me.

Those questions assume that you 2 have broken up.  She could just as easily say something like “how is your girlfriend doing?”   It is more disrespectful than anything imo. She might just be a rude/immature person?

Y’all around here are insecure as hell. All good friends, when it’s been a while, ask if they’re still with their SO, where they’re living, what they’re doing. How else will you know how your friend has been? It’s normal, don’t worry about it. Unless she says something actually sketchy, just ignore it. Especially if they don’t talk for months at a time.

I don’t think it’s weird in the context you put it. Had he been hurt in the past and she saw him through it? Do they see each other in person every few months or just text? Have you met her?
My husband’s best friend is a girl, and I guess I could picture her asking the same to check in and him saying the same to her. She along with others were there for him through a divorce and genuinely happy for him when we met. They were always friends, nothing romantic.

I mean I would be pretty damn insulted if someone asked me if I was still with my husband after 3 years and a baby....why wouldn’t you just ask “how’s so-and-so?”
So I don’t necessarily agree that it’s a normal question like some of the commenters....there are ways to check on someone that don’t involve implying that their relationship isn’t permanent.
As to whether it means she’s trying to get with him, who knows, but it does come across to me as if she dislikes you at the very least 😬 idk it just seems rude to me
