Lead in my dishes
I started collecting vintage Pyrex and Franciscan ware when I was still in high school. When I moved out 6 years ago, I started to use them as my dish ware and cookware. I’m 5 weeks pregnant and thought “hmmm what if they have lead?” Because I have literally found something that I’m doing wrong everyday! So I google to find that they do have lead. There was a lot of conflicting information about whether it will leech onto food though so I went to Ace and picked up a lead home test kit. My daily dishes (Franciscan earthenware in atomic starburst) didn’t have detectable levels of lead. My brightly colored Pyrex bowls I got from my grandmother did. I quickly put them in the garage and emailed my OBGYN about getting a test. Obviously it’s Saturday so I won’t hear back for a few days. I’m just STRESSED! I try very hard to do everything correctly and then something as serious as lead may actually be a problem.
Have any of you ladies had a similar scare and things turned out okay? I’m trying to stay hopeful but I’m already a very paranoid person so it’s hard.
