When do you think a child is too old to be breastfeeding?

I know this can be a very controversial subject but I'm curious to see the social "norm." When does it become no longer "acceptable" for a child to nurse? 
I personally dont think I would be able to breastfeed past two years old but for any momma who can and does so, kudos to you!

I'm chocked people are voting that its unacceptable to be breastfed past 12 months. 
Because feeding them McDonalds at 18 months is ok but breastfeeding is jus unacceptable right. 🤦🤦🤦🤦

2-7 years old is the average for weaning from breastfeeding. The US just like to do it sooner.

I stop breastfeeding my babies after one year but I really don’t care what age everyone decides to stop.

It's up to each mother. My goal was one year. My son is 2 and I couldn't imagine still breastfeeding. I could possibly pump and put it in his cup.

I really don’t care what other people do with their babies as long as they aren’t endangering them...... but personally, I find it awkward to nurse once the child can “clearly” verbally ask for the Booby.

My youngest was 3 1/2 when he weaned from breastfeeding. I was so young minded when I had my first and believed all the hype about not being to eat certain foods so on so on. My middle child was in the hospital for 13 months after birth and I didn’t trust the hospital (long story) as to not mix my milk with another mother’s milk. 
It boils down to a lot of things when deciding how long to breastfeed. Religion, employment, society etc. I personally do feel that one is too young to wean because they still need that reassurance at that age but there are many who feel differently. 
Some women just can’t breastfeed no matter their efforts, or are cut short of their milk supply for whatever reason. But I don’t feel they should be ashamed because they gave it their all. 
But I don’t feel that mothers who choose not to breastfeed should be shamed or treated any differently either. To each their own. I just personally chose to and wish that I did for my other two as well. 
I’m an older mom now so I’ve “been there done that” with the controversy over breastfeeding being right or wrong. Yes I do feel it’s best for the baby but that’s just not always the case or always an option for a mother. Breastfeeding wasn’t as “encouraged” back when I had my first as it is now. They actually almost pushed the medication to dry up your milk supply not leaving an option for a later change of mind.

I personally have no desire to BF past 2 years, but I couldn’t care less about what another mother chooses for her child(ren) and her body. 🤷🏼‍♀️
