Could you marry someone you don’t lust over?

Question

If you loved your partner, and they treat you well, would you be okay marrying them even though you don’t lust over them? Like you find them attractive and still have sex of course, but you don’t really “crave” them sexually.

Yes. Relationships may start off with little effort but to maintain a good one takes work and time. You aren't going to constantly lust over your partner for 20 years, sex drives change over time. Lust is not love.

I think that lust feeling goes away regardless, so you’d end up in the same spot lol. I think what’s most important in finding a partner is stability, respect and someone I can have fun with, who makes me laugh. Sex is a bonus, but if you have good communication you can fix that in most situations anyway.

When I was younger, my answer would have been a hard no, but now that I'm a little older, my priorities have changed. I'm not looking for lust/sex, but a life partner. As someone pointed out, looks/lust do eventually fade. I like stability, respect, communication, support & all of those good qualities one looks for in a SO, so yes, if he checked all of those boxes, I'd marry him.

I love my husband and I find him incredibly attractive. When we first got together we had sex constantly but now that we’ve cooled down we have to fight to have sex. It’s not that I don’t want to have sex with him or that I no longer find him desirable. We’re tired and “adulting” gets in the way. I’d much rather make sure dishes get done than I do. The lust and “newness” is gone but I still don’t want to be with anyone else sexually

I wouldn’t marry someone at all. I would not be in a relationship with someone I was not sexually attracted to
