We just went for our intense ultrasound to make sure there was no sign of downs by looking at the baby’s spinal cord - it came out perfect! I’m 12 weeks and everything looks amazing. The baby was moving all over the place and is at the exact stage it should be, however due to my age (39) and to quote the dr “quality of eggs” they had me do genetic counseling and blood tests as well. I’m waiting for results now. I completely understand that I am old and there are concerns, but I’m wondering when the time will come when I can go to the dr get great news and not come out worried about something else...lol!!! It like every time I get nervous going in, get excited about good results and then they say “hey don’t get too excited! You still need to rule stuff out!!” I can still laugh about it but I’m wondering if anyone else feels this way being older and pregnant. Attaching a pic :)
