It looks like it could possibly be the start of impetigo, I’m not sure about chicken pox. It would need an antibiotic if it was impetigo though so keep an eye on it (impetigo will spread). If you notice a yellowish crust (which is hard to tell from the pic), has more of them on other areas of his body, or if he has or develops a fever you’ll probably just want to call his pediatrician for advice.
