Moses basket?

Okay so my little guy is 5 days old. We have been trying to use our more modern bassinet for nighttime sleeping, but he just was NOT having it in there. 
My mom brought over my old Moses basket, and he friggen loves the thing and falls asleep pretty much the minute he's put down.
I've always thought they were recommended/safe for sleep, but when I google it the first thing that comes up says "You can safely put your baby into a moses basket only if you take certain precautions while using it and only if you're watching your baby at all times. ConsumerReports.Org strongly recommends against using them at all". 
Opinions? Advice? Thanks ladies ❤️

This looks pretty safe to me. While I don’t have a Moses basket, I do have a Halo bassinet, it is safe as it is breathable, I put my baby in there when we came home from the hospital and he was not having it! Then a week after being home my husband put the Dockatot in there and he slept for 3 hours straight, (he is one month today and he sleeps in it for 5-4 hours in there) after reading a little further I found out it was unsafe to put the “Dockatot” in the bassinet. Ugh! However, that is the only way he sleeps! I’m torn because to me it looks safe and that is the only way he is comfortable. So to your point if your baby is comfortable in the Moses basket and there is nothing that could potentially get in the way of your baby breathing then I’d say go with your gut and let your baby sleep in there. I think the concern is that the mattress is soft and also the sides are dangerous in the sense that if his face gets pushed up against he can suffocate as his muscles aren’t strong enough yet to pull himself away. Hence why bumpers aren’t suppose to be used in cribs

My son sleeps exclusively in a Moses basket, as did I when I was a baby and as did my husband! We’ve never had any problems and love that we can carry it from room to room if need be. If it works for you guys, then I say keep doing it!
