Is it bad that I’d prefer not to have a single visitor at the hospital after giving birth?

I don’t get along with my fiancé’s mom or my own mother. I feel they should be the first ones to see her however I just want that first day or so to have her to ourselves and bond with her and hold her as much as we want without people putting their hands all over her.

If things go according to plan, no one will be notified until after I give birth.

I don’t know— maybe I’m being extremely selfish but I just don’t like the idea of people being in our personal bubble. I’m an only child and also hate when we have visitors in our home. I just really value personal space more than anything.

It gives me anxiety that we are going to have share something so precious with our family and the rest of the world.
