Do you buy second hand toys or clothes for your kids birthdays

Well my baby is only 6 months so she hasn’t had a birthday yet but I definitely have tons of hand me down toys and clothes from my sister and if they toys and clothes are in good shape and cheap I don’t see why not?

I mean my youngest will get my oldest toys, and they’re close enough in age that they will play with some together in a few years. 
But I’m not going to wrap them up and give her them for a holiday. I’ll get her her own new things

Yes my daughter was only 3 months at Christmas and had no Idea what was going on so 99% of the stuff I brought her was good quality second hand.
It's her birthday in a month's time and again 90% is second hand, I just don't like the idea of paying full price for something she might not use in 6 months time.
Some of the stuff is still got it's original packaging for the few that don't I'm just putting them all together in one big box and wrapping it like that.
Also she's the first grandchild on both sides so I know she's going to be spoilt if Christmas is anything to go by.

I do for my kids for sure. I do for some friends kids as I know that is what they as a family prefer. 
I like getting books second hand I have a hard time buying them new. Sometimes if there is something specific I’m looking for that my child wants but I have not seen it second hand then I’ll buy it new.
