Preemie Breastfeeding Advice?

2 weeks ago my sweet baby girl decided to make her appearance 6 weeks early! Her corrected gestational age is 35 +1. She’s in the NICU and will remain here for awhile! We’ve finally been allowed to put her to breast and let her try nursing! She’s interested but still unsure. Being my first baby in general I’m also unsure. Anyone else with preemies have any advice?

I started my little 32 weeker at 2 days old.  I would pump before nursing him and let him use me as a pacifier while he got his tube feeds.  Sometimes he latched, sometimes he just nuzzled next to the nipple.  He started out as a pretty soft/lazy nurser, but built up his stamina with non-nutritive sucking.  By 35 weeks though he was doing great and we left the nicu 100% breastfed.

I been trying non nutritive feeding. Hasnt been going well but she loves the pacifer and she found her thumb. There gonna introduce a bottle this weekend when shes 34 weeks corrected gestation which is this Friday. 
She was born at 28 weeks 1 pound 10 ounces. Shes 3 pounds 2 ounces today n still in NICU of course.

Is she showing feeding cues yet? Sucking the hands, rooting etc?  You might have to wait on those for nursing to be successful.  Just keep at it though. She’ll get it xx. She’s adorable
