Also you and your family live off your salary, and you live paycheck to paycheck. Normally you are very good at your job, and the mistake was as simple as setting the wrong paper in the wrong place.

It’s best to come clean. If it’s going to cost the company a lot of money, they’re likely to investigate it and will more than likely figure out what happened. You need to take responsibility for it and speak up now because if they find out on their own, you’re going to be in much more trouble. It’s best to admit it and face the consequences than get caught and face harsher ones.

Hahaha I don't have loyalty to companies. I have loyalty to human beings, and I would feel horrible about making a mistake or inconveniencing others. I would not feel bad for a company.

It sounds like no matter how (or if) they find out, you’ll lose your job. If you can, cover for yourself as long as you can and try to fix it, but also start applying to as many other jobs as you can. That way you’re kind of putting both the company’s best interests and yours first and trying to resolve it for everyone. 
I live paycheck to paycheck too. I hate lying, but withholding the truth while you try to fix it isn’t so terrible. If you can fix the issue, maybe tell them then that it was you but it’s fixed, and maybe it won’t be so bad.
