Generally it's recommended to do one side per feeding, & do the other side only if you feel like you've been drained & baby wants to keep going. Otherwise just switch sides each feed. It enables baby to get the fattier hindmilk.

I was recommended to do each side per feed and supplement if she's not satisfied after. 10 min per side and she's usually content. A lactation consultant told me sometimes even just 5 min and a baby could be content.
