What age and weight did you mamas start front facing a car seat?

It’s best to wait until you max it out. I always said the earliest I’d do it is 3, but I’m trying to wait until he’s 4.

In most states the minimum age is 2 but it’s best practice to keep them rear facing until the max out one of the limits of their seat.
Our seat goes to 50lbs and 49” so we’ll switch her when she reaches one of those or when she starts kindergarten if she hasn’t reached one of the limits.

Well with my oldest two I was told by hospital staff to keep them rear facing until they reached a year old and then switch them front facing so that’s what I did. The laws changed and more data came out from studies that proved it was safer to keep them rear facing until 2 so they changed the law and recommendation in our state the year my son turned one so I kept him rear facing until he was 2. Now there are more recommendations to keep them rear facing as long as possible so that’s what I’m doing with my youngest. Probably going to keep her rear facing until she’s 3-4 depending on how big she gets.

I wanted to read face my daughter as long as possible but about a month ago, she started to come unglued when I put her in her car seat. Flipped her around and she’s been perfectly happy in her car seat. 2 1/2 yrs, almost 30lbs and almost 37” tall.

My son got terrible motion sickness rear facing so our pediatrician recommended we switch him at a year and a half

3.5 and still rear facing because my child hasn't maxed out her seat yet. The seat manuals suggest not turning your child until they have maxed out the rear facing requirements.

My son was 2. His legs started getting very uncomfortable.

I was going to hold off until she was 3, she hit a major growth spurt and is still within rear faving range. Wr decided it was ok based on her size to flip her at 2 ish. My infant is tiny so we will make that decision when its time. But rear face as long as possible

I'll keep my son rear-facing as long as possible. He's 2.5 & is almost to the height limit for rear-facing (super tall kiddo!) so we'll have to turn him soon.
