Is anyone due to start their Maternity Leave?

Starting when baby is born. Don’t want to lose any time with baby when we only get 12 short weeks.

I'm on mine already.  I'm from Canada and get a year off of maternity/parental leave. My job has me chained (metaphorically of course) to a desk all day staring at a computer screen and it was giving me major back issues and migraines, plus I have HG, so I started a bit early.

I was planning on working up until maybe the week before my due date, but I’ve had complications and I’m getting sicker and sicker the further along I get. So I’m thinking now I’ll probably go out around 36-37 weeks, my doctor has already limited me to 8 hour shifts also. I’m a psychiatric nurse and my job is stressful and demanding so it’s getting harder to go in to work every shift lol.

My last day in the office is when I hit 37 weeks - I’ve saved up a few weeks of vacation time, so my mat leave won’t technically start until a few days before my due date (39 weeks 4 days).

I plan to start mine a week before my scheduled c-section so that I have time to do any last minute preparation, and to spend quality time with my 3 year old before she is no longer the only child!

I was going to wait until a few days before my c section but I’m getting very uncomfortable so I may go out the first week of November. I’m due on the 14th.

I finish up at work next Friday. I’ll be 32 weeks. The max I could work (at my work) without a letter from my doctor is 34 weeks. I’ve decided to leave early due to pain. I work 8-10 hours shifts in a factory and I’m on my feet 99% of the time.
