New Hire but Pregnant??? Advice

Question

I just got hired and I start at 18 weeks and 1 day. I  know I need to hide my bump (which is not hard because it is tiny.) Im due Feb 16th. When is the most appropriate time to tell them I will need maternity leave? I do not hit the 90 day mark until Dec 8th ish when I am 30 weeks. I think I can hide it for that long but... 
THE QUESTION: How/When do I tell my employer that I will need maternity leave? 
Anyone have experience?

Once you're hired, they can't fire you for being pregnant, even before the 90 day mark. (they can fire you for other reasons but not for pregnancy)

I’m in the same boat. I start a new job on Monday and I will be 19 weeks. I told them right after they offered me the job when we were talking about pay and benefits. I thought it was the right thing to do to tell them as soon as possible since they will want time to figure out how to fill my position while I’m gone. Good luck!

I started a new job the day I got pregnant. They were ignorant to me the whole time. I took lunch breaks for my drs appointments. I get bad migraines and they got worse when I was pregnant with my twins. I was the only one who needed drs notes in the office. I would walk through the lunch room while everyone else was trying on work jackets for them to order. Was never offered one. For Halloween everyone who dressed up besides me was asked to pose for picture. I was told I didn’t have a job to go back to once I was done. Once I hit 29 weeks my drs office took me off work. I couldn’t be more happy it was living hell there. If I actually had a better job where I was treated right I would of stayed longer. 🤷‍♀️

I would tell them right away, as you have alot of planning they will need to plan to cover your job while you're away and they'd probably rather know sooner than later. Plus just out it out there incase something happens to come up in conversation before you accidently mention it. Where I work if you haven't been there atleaat a year you get whatever leave your doctor orders but if you been over a year you get 12 weeks. Not sure how you're employer will be. I'm sure they will be very understanding, don't let them try to let you go over it because that is illegeal they can't fire you due to being pregnant. Good luck

I would tell them right away, within the first week or so. They can’t fire you and if you try to hide it they could find out through other people who know. There’s no reason to hide it. It’d wear baggy clothes for a few days until you get to tell your boss/supervisor and then no more hiding.
