Hobbit fanfic pt 4
Tuor and I are exiled. I hear legolas draw a breath, he is going to speak. I can't let him. Not now. So i speak. ' Legolas, it is your kings command.' He smiles at me and I roll my eyes at him. He's going to do something stupid isn't he. And he does - he chooses to be exiled if we are. So we ride to Gundabd. Sometimes now, I wonder if we went because he felt guilty for leaving his only son to die. But at others I wonder if it was revenge. Against the Orc filth who slew his mother.
On and on the journey goes, with a nagging feat for Tuor always eating away at our minds. Finally we reach Gundabad. We find a vantage point and look down. 2,000 years it has been since we came to this place. Two thousand years of heart break and scheming, to stop Thranduil breaking our marriage apart. Legolas hates him for it but I feel sorry for him. It could have been one of us. Bereft of our soul mate for thousands of years. Seeing us so happy makes him feel like it was our fault she died. Which it was. In a way. Focus. We can't afford to lose track now. All day we wait. We speak occasionally and plan for the years ahead if we survive. We will seek sanctuary in Lothlorien. With my parents. But what if... Eventually we fall completely silent. It's not worth it. Finally, it is time. Just as we start to move, there is a shrieking, piercing on elven sensitive ears at any time but after this long silence, almost unbearable.
