Is this enough to live on???
I'm a single mom to a 1 year old. I have no additional help (as in no dad in the picture) Do you think that this is enough to live on?? On average I make about $3400 per month (that's like $1700 bi weekly)
All of my expenses and payments and bills add up to $3700 (this includes groceries, daycare, car insurance, rent, etc...everything)
The government gives what's called a Child Tax Benefit to help families with young kids. I get $800 per month from this. So that plus my normal income is roughly $4200 per month.
$4200 subtract $3700 is $500 left over at the end of the month (extra). My family and friends all seem to think that only having $500 at the end of the month is cutting it too close and means I will be tight on funds if something were to happen. Like what if your car breaks down. What if you need to buy baby clothes. What if the baby gets sick and you have to take time off work. What if you go out to dinner with friends. All these very realistic scenarios.
Do you think I can survive on this? Or am I cutting it too close??
