The bridesmaid pt.11
Eventually Summer did fall asleep. Tony just laid there enjoying Summer’s scent & feeling her body against his. He knew the right thing to do was to leave & for the both of them to continue on with their lives as if nothing happened. He didn’t want to complicate Summer’s life even more. He looked at the clock resting on the nightstand. He had exactly one hour until his Uber was set to come pick him up. He still had to gather his things & get ready.
He carefully laid Summer down on the bed, held & kissed her hand & kissed her forehead. He then proceeded to gather his things & get ready.
After about half an hour, he was done getting ready. He looked at Summer who was still asleep. She looked like an angel laying there. He was going to miss everything about her. That day he left his heart behind. He decided since he had some time that he would leave behind a note for her to read once she woke up.
After he finished writing the note, he placed it on the nightstand, looked at summer one last time then kissed her soft lips goodbye.
He was long gone by the time summer woke up. She opened her eyes & looked to her side to see that she was all alone.
Summer: Tony, are you there?
She got up from the bed & walked around the hotel room & found no trace of Tony. She was completely distraught. She sat back down on the bed with tears in her eyes. She lifted her head to see the note on the nightstand. She quickly grabbed it & began reading it.
Summer,
The past 2 days have been wonderful. I’ve never opened up my heart to anyone like I have with you.
You might be wondering why I left. I’m sorry that I did & I hope you don’t hate me for it. I know we are both in a place in our lives where it would be easier to run away & be together, but it isn’t the right thing to do.
The right thing for us to do it to return to our lives & try to work things out. The last thing I want is to add to your complications.
If we were truly meant to be, the universe will find a way to bring us back together. The timing for us just isn’t right. I want to let you know that I will wait for you no matter how long it’ll take.
I will always remember you, Summer & I will always & forever be loving you.
With Every Beat of My Heart,
Tony
