Is it safe to lose weight during pregnancy? I’m 5’6” and weight 217 but weighed 211 when I found out I was pregnant. I’m 7 weeks right now, and I was in the middle of my weight loss journey when I found out I was pregnant.

Talk to your doctor about it, because I was 316lbs when I first found out I was pregnant and now I'm  298lbs and my doctor told me it was okay because I was freaking out.

As the previous poster said- I was told to try to maintain through first and second trimester. Purposely losing weight is purposely putting your body into starvation mode.

I was told not to actively loose weight, but maintain the weight I was at. So now at 31+1 I have gained 1kg, so basically I have lost weight but it has all gone to baby.

Is it safe?
