Sugar Glider help

RI

This is our newest baby Goober he is 8weeks new. We bought him at a flea market last weekend from a breeder that we have seen there for the past 12yrs of visiting the flea market and decided to buy one for our sons 16th birthday held him and played with him he crabbed a little but nothing no were as bad as when he first saw him and playing with him for an hour straight deciding if we should or not. We gave 500$ for him, his cage, food, and a pouch. We played with him daily and I have been trying to help bond with him when my son is at school then he takes him once he's home so Goober is in his cage off and on about 3hrs not being handled throughout the day for rest and for water (we try feeding him and watering while we hold him). I have tried Googling information on them but needing some actual sugar glider families point of view. He won't let anyone handle him with out laying on his back and crabbing even louder then we have heard him b4, and will lunge at us when trying to pick him up. I have even heard him hissing at me. We have a side carrying pouch for him but getting him out is impossible. My son and I are at the point of being scared to handle him because of so much aggression he has. This is our first little Sugar glider and most likely our last. The owners were holding him and he was so sweet but day 2 of being home he acts like he wants to bite a hole in us lol. Any advice to help? We all start somewhere when having something new but we have tried everything even buying some dried fruits for his treats. Please help us to figure out what Goober is needing or wanting so we can bond better. Any product recommendations other then a book I ordered off Amazon today.

Btw a leash came with him but I worry it may hurt his little neck plus he won't let us near him to try.
