Unless someone asks its kinda odd to me and screams "hey I'm having a baby, I'm not bothering with a baby shower but I still want the gifts". Although that isn't necessarily the case, someone will more than likely come to that conclusion. I didn't have a baby shower nor did I ask for gifts, but people still spoilt my baby and I'm sure people will for you. You might not get the gifts you want, but it's better than anything it you aren't having a baby shower.
