Has anyone tried using the nipple shield ?

She hasn’t latched on because I have flat nipples and when I was in the hospital they recommended I get fitted for the nipple shield, which I never heard of because I am first time mommy.
Wanted to know your experience ?

With my first I had inverted nipples.
We tried to use a shield it worked kinda. I didn't have a consultant though either. I pumped the first three months of her life. It helped pull them on out. And she finally latched at about the three month mark.

I only used it for a couple weeks because it started to bring my nipples forward enough for baby to learn to latch. Now I’m breastfeeding my second baby no problems he latched right away.

Same as other poster they saved my breasfeeding journey and I fed for 18 months in the end with my first. He was tongue tied and it was so painful to feed until I had that sorted. The shields were a life saver! I bought the medela ones and got them on amazon. Xxx
