If you dad was a doctor would you have him deliver you ?

I think having a family member deliver you is a bad idea because they’re too emotionally invested. I wouldn’t want any doctor I was related to to do any work on me. Nothing to do with awkwardness or anything... I just think it can compromise critical thinking if something were to happen.

I don’t think I’d be comfortable with my dad looking at my vagina . I can see bringing his grand child to the world a sweet thing but me personality no .

Only if it was an emergency situation and I wasn’t able to get to the hospital and he happened to be the only one able to deliver the baby. Otherwise no, but I also chose midwives ages ago bc I’m not comfortable with male drs personally.

My dad is an OBGYN and people have asked me my entire pregnancy if I’m going to him or if he is going to deliver my baby. That is SO weird! The only way that would happen is if it was an absolute emergency and I had no choice lol!

No, i believe in not having dual relationships when it comes to someones professional work. Theyll have to know way too much personal info. And once they know it they cant un-know it. Nope. dad, be a grandpa not a doctor.

My dad is a doctor (ED not OB though) and while I’m very comfortable asking for his advice/having him treat me for things generally - anything to do with my lady business is off limits.   It’s just weird for me.   In an emergency - anything and everything that needed to be done I’d be fine with him doing. Barring that, he will not deliver my baby.  I still think if it was my mother who was the doctor, I’d have the same opinion. My husband and I have a friend (female) who is an OB too and she’s fantastic but I don’t see her or her practice either for the same reasons.  It’s just weird for me when your doctor is that close with you in your personal life.
