Can 4 month olds have pedialyte?

My girls have diarrhea, no fever and are their normal happy selves. But I’m worried they’ll get dehydrated from all the diarrhea. Is it safe to give them pedialyte and how do I give it to them? Doctors office is closed so I can’t call and ask

Is the diarrhea severe? Are they still drinking formula? If so, then no, they don’t need to have it.

My 3 month old had a virus called sapovirus. Pretty much the stomach flu.  My dr told me if it was getting worse or not getting any better to do only pedialyte for 24 hours.  Then start back. We did that and he cleared up. With diarrhea on and off for a few days.  When it got to at least once every day she said switch back and forth until the morning.  One bottle pedialyte then formula. And he has been good since then.

My pediatrician recommended an ounce of 2 when my then 4 month old was sick to keep her hydrated. So it should be fine
