Having bad anxiety while driving
I was 7 years old when I was in a really bad car accident that nearly killed me. I don’t remember any of it because I had brain damage and was in a coma for a week. I’m now 23 years old and just got my first actual car so I’ve been driving around a lot more. I’ve always depended on others to take me wherever I needed to go. Of course I knew how to drive, I just never did. I didn’t think I was traumatized by the wreck being that I can’t remember anything until I started driving more. I was driving the other day and all of a sudden got this thought and image of being in a really bad car accident and I got this huge knot in my stomach and just started crying. I had my daughter with me so I know that didn’t make anything better. I’m always getting extremely anxious when driving escape in high traffic areas. I know it’s normal to be a little nervous while driving at first but I feel like I’m overreacting. Any advice on making it better??
