First drs appt

So my dr isn’t available until I’ll be 8 weeks. Is this too long to wait to confirm pregnancy? Blood tests ect? Seems like everyone gets in much earlier and even gets an ultrasound, tracking hcg levels? Should I look for a different dr who’s available sooner?
