How many newborn clothes do we ACTUALLY need?

FTM HERE!!
How many newborn clothes do i actually need? I have a million of those swaddle muslin clothes but 13 short sleeve onesies and 7 long sleeve pj things (some zippy some gowns) and 3 swaddle sleep sacks. There are a couple ‘cute’ outfits that i don’t foresee as practical. We have like 3 pairs of socks but no pants/t shirt sets. 
What do we actually NEED?! HALP! Due next week!

My daughter was 8lbs and 21 inches and was only in newborn clothes for like two weeks. We she did go through atleast 4 outfits a day. Used a lot of sleep and play as well. I didn’t use socks a lot because she was swaddled most of the time. You are good with swaddles for sure.

My boys were both 9 lbs so newborn size fit for like a week lol. I’d say a handful of onesies and jammies are just fine. You can always buy more later if needed.

I've heard most people change their baby three times a day, so, depending on how often you want to do the washing, you probably want 15-21 outfits.

I have five sleep and play newborn outfits and a few onesies...she’s two weeks old and ready for the next size so definitely don’t over do it. They grow SO fast.

I’d say you have plenty if those are all newborn sizes. My baby is almost 3 weeks old and she will prob be in newborn clothes for a few more weeks. She goes through about 3 onesies a day. I don’t always put pants on her because they are just annoying to take on/off when your changing diapers frequently and she’s usually wrapped up in a blanket or swaddle sack. And I hardly ever put socks on her because her feet are too small they just fall off.
