Infant head injury?

Question

Anyone experience a head injury with their infant? I was being a super smart mom (🙄) and filming our almost 6 month old standing in her crib when she fell backwards and landed on the mattress, smacking the back of her head into the headboard on the way around 11 am. She cried for a few seconds, was her usual self the rest of the day until about 9 pm when she puked so many times in a row that only yellow bile came up. The hospital was super happy with her vital signs and did no scans or X-rays and she even nursed a few hours after and has been nursing the usual amount/frequency and keeping it down. Anyone experience such a delayed reaction with a “mild concussion”? She had no fever or diarrhea so it’s hard to believe it’s a stomach bug and no one that’s held her is/was sick either. Not a head injury but my LO rolled off of our bed on to the carpet. She barely even cried but my Husband insisted we take her to the pediatrician to get her checked out. They were very reassuring that it's really more common than you think. I really beat myself up for it and my husband was so mad at me. I understand how you feel but don't feel bad things happen when you least expect it.

It’s ok mama. We all do these things. I wanted to take a pic of my son when he was laying on my bed bc he was making a really cute face so I reached back to grab my phone and BOOM rolled over and smacked his head on the wood floor. I felt so badly. I’m like wow that happened all bc I wanted to take a picture lol. He didn’t have concussion but delayed concussions are very common. I would just continue to keep an eye on her and follow up with pediatrician.
FYI I’m a nurse so even us trained medical professionals do “not so smart” things. And every nurse on my floor who has kids has told me they have had some sort of accident at one point. And these are some of the most loving, smart, and alert women I have ever met. It is more common than you think so try not to let the mom guilt get to you 😊

Not an infant but my toddler suffered a delayed mild concussion last year. He only vomited once, two days after the injury happened. But that was really the least worrisome of his symptoms. He was just off mentally. He was so tired, he slept a ton those few days, and he was over-emotional like he would cry over literally nothing he burst into tears randomly, and he kept saying he was scared but nothing was happening he would just look so confused and say he was scared.
