Fasting for weight loss

So I've been struggling with PCOS and a host of other physical issues with my weight loss road. I've managed to get down to 235 before snapping back to 245, and it's frustrating.

I currently have been weighing portions, meal planning so I'm not always guessing at my next meal and therefore making horrible choices. I've kicked up my activity level (it's been slow at work so I do different exercises while sweeping and doing daily chores), and have been cutting out carbs and sugars and drinking water much more.

One of my friends suggested fasting, and while in theory it sounds good I feel like I should ask others if they have any experience with this process. Any tips if you have fasted?
