Move to Hawaii?

Hi needing advice! My hubby and I are thinking of moving to either Kauai or Honolulu because he might transfer his job over there. Can anyone give me pros and cons on each island and how living there is like? We’ve been to Maui and the big island so I know it’s expensive. Needing any kind of advice please!

Pros: Absolutely beautiful, tons to do (especially in Honolulu), lots of local fruit, great beaches...
Cons: Insanely expensive (which you already stated), a very large homeless population, natural disasters, very isolated (1500 miles to land in any direction), terrible education system...
