Eating less or smaller Amt.?

Carrie

I’m 23 weeks today and I find that I eat smaller amounts or less. My MIL is always on my butt about eating more. I assume this is normal with growing baby taking up tummy room. Is this ok or safe to eat this way? What’s best to eat in this situation.

Do not eat more just to calm other people. It’s not their body! With my third daughter I had to basically eat small amounts throughout the day so that it had time to digest. Otherwise it would all come up! There was no room. Do what feels best for you and baby

Listen to your body. It knows. Unless you have 0% body fat your baby is getting what it needs. Take your prenatals and eat nutrient rich foods. You’re fine. Completely normal for you appetite to lower with so much less room!

YES and with my last pregnancy I could only eat a bite or two at a time, otherwise it would get pushed up. Many parking lots I got sick in (sorry tmi). So when people were on me about “you need to eat more, You’re eating for two “ it would irritate me! Like do you want me to throw up on you? Baby gets more nutrients if it actually stays down!

Eat when u r hungry. Its simple. Make sure u take ur vitamins & eat nutritious food. Nutritious food is what counts. If u eat a tom of donuts & burgers fries etc everyday its worse than if u eat small nutritious meals. Quality over quantity.

Smaller meals helped me combat reflux which was much worse when I ate a big meal. Babe is growing fine and I’ve gained 22 lbs at 30 weeks (FTM). I’ll take it!
