I sent him this in a text

But I’m looking at the financial side of your life. You want to get a $17,000 car which I have told you that you don’t need because it’s not a necessity. You can get a great car for $10,000 even as low as 7,000. That’s me trying to make sure you don’t spend money on a car you don’t need. But even if you decided to get that you’re getting a loan which you will have to pay off. Or if you finance it you got monthly payments. You could run into more issues that need to be repaired on your car. And also you want to get an apartment which you need proof of income for. You cannot viably support yourself on your own without some sort of job. If I’m being honest I don’t like your job because of it’s uncertain hours. But if you’re going to quit at least have a backup plan. And none of this is for me but you’re an adult now you have to think like one. I have to. You have to. We all have to. Want time for yourself, take a vacation. If you plan it around my schedule I can go with you. But don’t quit your entire job or at least find a replacement. And that’s all I’m trying to say to you. You can do more things for yourself if you have the financial ability to do so. Like if I wanna go to Australia I have to save up to do it. You may have money saved up but something can go wrong. You could get hurt and have to use all the money for medical bills. Your car could break down and cost thousands to fix or thousands to get a new one or a rental. And I know these are what ifs but why do you think I’m keeping my money in my bank account? Cuz of emergency’s

I sent that because he said he never does anything for himself and I’m trying to show him that he could do even more for himself if he’s got the money to do it.
