We bought these two toys, along with others. But these have been my daughter's favorite. Her first birthday was last week.
The one with the colors inside the block have springs and jump out. My daughter LOVES it. She will play with it for so long. Surprisingly, my 4 year old niece loves playing with it as well.
The cube is a busy cube. All of the sides have something different. She loves to play with that in the car. There are also much bigger busy cubes.

My son’s first birthday will be in December so I’m gathering a list of stuff I want to get since we’ll do birthday gifts and Christmas gifts. I’m not sure we will actually get all of these but here are the ideas I’ve had so far:
Zoo membership (and maybe an animal puzzle or something to pair with that so it’s a more fun gift for him to open)
Outdoor swing for backyard (will probably hang from a tree)
Small plastic slide that can go inside or outside

Melissa and Doug wooden toys (I’m looking at a shape sorting dump truck and also a set of wooden fruit that Velcro’s together so it can be cut)

Honestly pick one you and be done. They don’t really care much for toys at this age my son was more interested in the box his activity table came in than the table itself. My go to was one you and then I get him clothes for the upcoming seasons which are fall and winter I still do this and he’s 3 now.

My daughters birthday is October so I don't know if she actually like them but I've brought my daughter wooden puzzles, blocks, a latches board, a laces and button board, wooden fruit + veg, books, bath toys and a shape sorter.
She's already got most large things like rocking horse, trike and ball pit.

My son loves this little work table that is off of Amazon and from China or something lol. It's orange, green, and purple I think. Has a ball, 4 shapes, a wrench, hammer, and screwdriver I believe. It makes noise and has a little tablesaw that lights up. It's maybe 16 inches long so it's pretty small but he freaking loves that thing lol And his FP Sit n Stand walker. And that annoying little pop walker he can push across the hardwood 😂 He also has a little B Duck bicycle but we have hardwood so it glides pretty well on our floors. It was a gift but definitely something I'd recommend.
