Best 'sleep training' method

I would love to get some suggestions on books/articles to read about gentle sleep training. After having a baby who was not a very good sleeper and only ever fell asleep if on the boob, I need some guidance on how to do this differently with a new baby. From as early on as possible. I mainly want to teach the baby how to fall asleep without being on the boob or being rocked, and how to self sooth.

No crying out loud method. I want a gentle approach.

I feel like most methods out there are designed towards formula fed babies. But I need something that is feasible with an exclusively breast fed baby.

Any ideas/suggestions? Your own experiences are also highly appreciated!
