So my boyfriend has made a few comments about my underwear choices. I wear “grannies”. They’re the silky kind, but I like the higher rise because they hold in tummy pudge and don’t give me a muffin top. (I also have several pairs of cotton underwear.) I cannot STAND thongs and I hate the feeling of wedgies (so the cheeky kind) He keeps saying things like “I’ll get you some sexy underwear for your birthday” or “lets go shopping for new underwear” (he’s not offering to pay, either.)

a) I already have sexy underwear i put on before we have sex because I only have to have them on for a few minutes

b) he wants me to wear them for every day, not just when it’s time for us to have sex

c) I find it rude and hurtful that he keeps making comments like that

In his defense, he cares a lot about style and he does buy nice underwear, however I’m frugal and just don’t see underwear as one of the things I should spend $$ on. I also don’t care about dressing stylish everyday. I live in leggings and big T-shirt’s, but when we go out I’ll dress up.

What can I say to help him understand they’re just not for me?? Or should I try to branch out and buy different underwear?
