Can you take letrozole w/o a trigger shot?

Wanting to see if my doctor will let me do letrozole without the trigger shot this month. Has anyone ever done that before?

A) I don’t like needles or shots

B) It’s getting expensive paying over $100 every month for a shot and not seeing results. Just the letrozole itself is more affordable.

I was never given the option to have a shot (though I’m not doing iui... not sure if you are). I do ovulate on my own though and was prescribed it in the hopes it would help me to release multiple eggs (to create more targets for the sperm).

I couldn’t afford the trigger shot when I was on letrozole so I asked if I regularly ovulate and track it with opks if the shot even mattered. Turns out I didn’t have to take it at all, so it’s not unheard of. Did the US to check the eggs and everything looked as if I was ovulating just fine without the shot, so I never got the prescription filled 🤷‍♀️
